Dear Mama, Just Breathe
I feel like I haven’t stopped for weeks.
New job, new routine, learning, adjusting, creating, writing, editing, meetings, brainstorming, deadlines...just breathe.
Daughter finishing daycare, both kids starting school, school drop off, school pick up, notes from my daughter’s JK teacher, tantrums, meetings, school lunches, more tantrums, counting to ten...just breathe.
Car accident, shocking, nerve-wracking, stressful, insurance companies, forms -- oh so many forms! -- damaged car cannot be repaired, car shopping, test drives, need new car seats, researching, shopping, decisions, appointments, banks, financial advisor, buying a car, unexpected expense...just breathe.
Neck, shoulder and back pain. Could it be from the accident? The stress of the past several weeks? Both? Chiropractor, massage therapist, acupuncture, more forms, more appointments...just breathe.
Son’s birthday, party, invitations, planning, gifts, friends, family, busy, busy, busy...just breathe.
Laundry, cleaning, kitchen, bathrooms, family room, bedrooms, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, folding, putting away, tidying, organizing, to-do lists that never end...just breathe.
This has been my situation recently. Mamas, what’s yours? If there is one thing that I have been constantly reminding myself through all of this is to take a moment and just breathe. Life is hard. Parenting is hard. Sometimes you are going to get more than you anticipated thrown at you and even if you think you can’t handle it remember that you are stronger than you think. You don’t have to do it all and accept that you probably won’t. Take time to be with family and friends. Enjoy the little moments. Take time for yourself.
You’ve got this mama! Just breathe.
