Book Review: The Day the Crayons Came Home

In this follow-up to The Day the Crayons Quit, author Drew Daywalt brings readers another colourful story featuring Duncan and his crayons. This time the boy finds a mysterious stack of post cards addressed to him from crayons lost or forgotten.
Much like the first book, The Day the Crayons Came Home features different crayons writing Duncan to inform him of their troubles and pleading with him to help bring them home safely.
From Pea Green wanting to change his name to Neon Red travelling the world; or from Glow-in-the-Dark crayon being trapped in the basement to Chunky Toddler crayon wanting to escape Duncan's little brother, each colourful character will bring a smile to your face.
But what I liked most about this book is what I think might be the hidden message -- no matter where you've been, what you've been through or who you are, there is always a place where you belong and people who will make you feel loved and right at home.
