Book Review: Beautiful Oops!

My kids love this book! With the brightly coloured illustrations, flaps and even an accordion-style pop up it provides much for young readers to explore!

As a parent, what I love about this book is the message it sends to kids. When it comes to creativity, it’s okay if you make a mistake. In fact, embracing those imperfections to create something quirky, whimsical or beautiful is encouraged.

Barney Saltzberg’s one-of-a-kind book demonstrates how a hole or tear in your paper can open up possibilities; playing with the shapes in a drip of paint, a smear or a stain can provide countless ways to make that work of art into something completely unique.

This book cleverly shows kids that beauty can be found in many ways, shapes and forms. All it takes is an open mind and a lot of creativity.
